CNT is committed to legal and ethical compliance in all our business practices. We also support the goal of ending the violence and human rights violations associated with the mining of gold and tin, tantalum and tungsten (“Conflict Minerals”) that prompted the United States Congress to pass legislation in 2010 mandating reporting and public disclosure related to the sourcing of Conflict Minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo and surrounding countries (“DRC”). The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) has issued rules implementing these reporting and disclosure requirements, as well as associated guidance. We are committed to complying with these rules and the associated guidance.
In support of our commitment to ethical business practices and to comply with the U.S. Conflict Minerals legislation and SEC rules, we have initiated and will continue appropriate due diligence efforts within our supply chain to identify the source of any Conflict Minerals in materials, parts and components we procure to manufacture our products. We do not prohibit or discourage the sourcing of Conflict Minerals from the DRC. However, if we discover any Conflict Minerals in any such materials that are sourced from the DRC and are not from smelters that have been independently certified as “DRC conflict free”, we will take appropriate actions to transition to use of other materials, parts and components when reasonably possible. Further, we expect our suppliers to adhere to the same principles with respect to their sourcing and supply chains.
